Enrolment and Payment Terms and Conditions
Please ensure that you read the terms and conditions of enrolment before submitting a registration form.
These rules apply to all pupils, including those who currently attend classes.
- A registration form is to be completed by the parent/guardian upon enrolment - including a registration fee, refundable when correct notice to leave is given (6/7 weeks)
- Free Trial Classes - If you start part way through a term the payment will be due only for the weeks after the trial and this will be calculated for you and due in full before the next class.
- We run 6 terms of the year, each term can depend if this is 6 or 7 weeks. (Sometimes this can be 5 weeks, please see our term dates)
- Invoices for classes are emailed via Studio Dance Company at the end of each term. (6/7 weeks)
- Fees are to be paid termly (Direct Debits can be arranged on request). Payment is due during the first week of term, failure to do so, this will result in your child not being able to participate in class.
- Late Payment; The payer will receive written notice if payment has not been received in accordance with these terms and conditions. Studio Dance Co. reserves the right to charge a late payment fee if an invoice remains unpaid after the date stated in the invoice.
- Fees will be reviewed annually.
- Multiple Child Discount will apply to all families with a second or any subsequent child of a family attending classes. 10% will be discounted from the total bill due.
- A terms notice is required in writing if a pupil will not be continuing with a class. Failure to do so will result in a terms fees being charged.
- We also required a terms notice in writing for change of class - if your child does multiple classes and wishes to not continue with a certain class this is also required for notice to be given.
We understand children have many interests and opportunities however we have to ensure you as parents/ guardians understand we have many outgoings for our beautiful facilities. If we do not have this protocol and notice isn’t given not only has your child’s place been reserved and this gives us little time to ensure this place is filled and if everyone was to not give the correct notice our business would fold. Please understand we are a privately run company.
General Terms and Conditions
- Students are encouraged to use the toilet prior to the start of class to avoid disruption and waste class time. We do advised students to come to class with a bottle of water.
- The school will work towards examinations. Only once the required standard is attained will students be put forward for examinations, however exams are not compulsory.
- Pupils are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner whilst attending classes and be respectful to both teachers and fellow pupils at all times. This will ensure the safety and well being of everyone.
- All teachers are fully qualified, DBS checked and insured. However, due to the nature of teaching dance it is sometimes necessary to physically correct positions of the body, where necessary this is conducted with the utmost care and professionalism. - Photography and Videography of students taken by Tenterden Studio Dance Company may be used for publicity or reference.
- If you do not wish your child's image to be used for these purposes you must inform Tenterden Studio Dance Company in writing. (Please see our Child Protection Policy for more information)
- A Professional Protocol will be issued to students and parents/guardians. Failure to observe this code of conduct may result in students being asked to leave. The school reserves the right to refuse any student prior to or after enrolment. No refund will be given if the Professional Protocol has been broken.
- We expect each of our students to perform to the best of their ability in all classes, auditions and performances.
- Students should inform the teacher before the start of class if they have any injury. As with any physical activity injuries can occur from time to time Tenterden Studio Dance Co. cannot be held responsible for any injury.
- Students must attend in the appropriate uniform.
- Hair must be neat and appropriate for each form of dance.
- We do not accept pupils from other dance schools unless we have written permission from the school involved.
- It is vital to the school and industry that respect and loyalty is given to our teachers at all times from both students and parents. Disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated at any level.
- Parents – please could we also ask that you refrain from:
1. Interrupting lessons - if you have a question please talk to the office staff or email the studios.
2. Coming into the studios as these spaces are for teachers and dancers, unless you are otherwise invited. Watching weeks are scheduled throughout the year.
3. Making any derogatory remarks about other dancers, schools or adjudicators at festivals.
- We hold Public Liability Insurance.
- We cannot undertake any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property.
- The studios will not disclose your information to third parties except where the law allows or requires, or where you have given your permission to do so.
- Parents and guardians of students attending classes are required to sign their acceptance of the terms and conditions for each student related to or their responsibility by signing the confirmation on the enrolment form.
- First Aid; It is understood that first aid will be administered to students when deemed necessary and accidents and injuries recorded in the accident book. Severe injuries will be reported to RIDDOR. In the case of an emergency, and if the parent/guardian is absent, it is understood that teachers will act as loco parentis where necessary. An ambulance will be called and the parents contacted.
- Tenterden Studio Dance Co./Tenterden Ballet Studios reserves the right to amend or alter these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
Performance Team Terms & Conditions
- Students are not to attend alternate dance classes, summer schools or auditions elsewhere without the Schools permission. Should you feel your child would benefit from attending a summer school, or scholars class, please ask us first.
- We have worked hard to earn our reputation and we are proud of you when you perform under our name. Students are expected to behave in a courteous manner not only within the school but also whilst attending festivals, performances or other events as students of the school. You should be polite to students and parents of other schools as well as festival organisers. We also ask that you are dressed appropriately, not entering the auditorium in costume, being quiet backstage and acting professionally at all times.
- Both parents and students must refrain from making any derogatory remarks about other dancers, schools or adjudicators at festivals.
